How we collect, use, and protect your data

1Who We Are

Monarch Games is a South African mobile gaming platform operated as an independent product ("we", "us", "our"). We are headquartered in South Africa and our services are primarily aimed at South African users. By using Monarch Games you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2What Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Monarch Games:

Account Information: When you register with email and password, we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Financial Information: When you submit a cashout request, we collect your South African mobile phone number linked to your PayShap account. We do not store any bank account details or card numbers.

Usage Data: We collect data about how you use the app including games played, coins earned, and daily activity. This data is used to run the coin economy fairly and to detect fraud.

Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as browser type and operating system for technical troubleshooting purposes.

3How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

To operate the platform: Running your account, tracking your coin balance, processing cashout requests, and enabling gameplay.

To prevent fraud: We monitor coin earning patterns and cashout requests to detect and prevent abuse. This protects all honest players.

To communicate with you: We may contact you about your cashout status, account security, or important platform updates.

To improve the platform: Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand which games are popular and how to improve the experience.

We do not use your personal information for advertising targeting, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

4Advertising

Monarch Games displays rewarded advertisements as part of its coin economy. When you choose to watch an ad, the ad network (such as Google AdMob) may collect certain data about your device and ad interactions in accordance with their own privacy policies.

You can choose not to watch ads — they are always optional and never forced. Skipping ads simply means you will not earn the associated coins.

We do not receive any personally identifiable information from ad networks about you.

5Offerwall & Third-Party Tasks

Our Earn page includes an offerwall where you can complete tasks from third-party partners (such as app installs or surveys) to earn coins. When you participate in these tasks, you interact directly with the offerwall provider who has their own terms and privacy policy.

We share a unique anonymous user identifier with offerwall providers to credit your account when you complete a task. We do not share your name, email address, or phone number with offerwall providers.

6Cashouts & Financial Data

When you request a cashout via PayShap, we collect and store your South African mobile number for the purpose of processing your payment. This number is visible to our administrative team who processes cashouts manually.

We retain cashout records including amounts, dates, and phone numbers for financial record-keeping and fraud prevention purposes. This data is retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by South African financial regulations.

We do not process payments automatically — all cashouts are reviewed and sent manually by our team.

7Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers (MongoDB Atlas) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices including:

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a strong salt factor before storage. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Access to the database is restricted to authorised personnel only. We do not store sensitive financial data beyond what is necessary.

If a security incident occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

8Your Rights Under POPIA

As a South African user, you have the following rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA):

Right to access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Right to correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to deletion: You may request that we delete your account and associated personal data. Note that we may retain certain financial records as required by law.

Right to lodge a complaint: You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg@justice.gov.za.

9Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Transaction records and cashout history are retained for 5 years for financial compliance purposes.

10Children's Privacy

Monarch Games is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The cashout feature involves real money and is strictly for adults.

If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@monarchgames.co.za and we will delete the account.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use of Monarch Games after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
